WARTORN Tainting Tomorrow With the Blood of Yesterday LP
rokzoom

The much anticipated second full length release from one of the most active DIY punk bands in existence. Contained herein are ten raging tracks of brutal hardcore with influences that range from 80's American hardcore, Scandinavian d-beat thrash, and modern crustcore, including their own unique take on classics from POISON IDEA and STATE OF FEAR. Four of these tracks were previously released in 2007 as the limited edition Prey for Salvation EP that sold out in a matter of days, the others are totally brand new but in the same style and production. As with all WARTORN releases to date, the cover is beautifully illustrated by Marald, who raises the bar on quality work once again.

As a special bonus, the first pressing comes in a gatefold jacket (whose inside is adorned with an amazing illustration by Eric from Man the Conveyors) plus a 22" x 22" poster of Marald's cover art for the Prey for Salvation EP.

This is a six way cooperative release between the band, Profane Existence, Crimes Against Humanity, Vex, Deskontento, and Fight for Your Mind Records.  Copies of the first pressing will sell out fast!  Shipping starts Wednesday, July 23rd

*** VINYL RETENTIVE SERIES!  Yes, there is an even further limited edition version being made for Profane Existence's vinyl retentive series. The include bonus screen-printed cloth wraps (essentially a giant back patch) and wicked colored vinyl. These will be shipped to all current VT subscribers and Supporting Members, along with the IMPERIAL LEATHER double EP near the end of this month.

Profane Existence Records Closing!

The End of an Era.

Today I am sad to announce that Profane Existence Records will immediately stop production on all upcoming releases not currently in the manufacturing process. This decision was a long time in the making and was the result of several years of struggling to make ends meet. Increased pressing, printing and shipping costs — combined with a recent sharp decline in sales — have made it all but impossible for Profane Existence Records to maintain financial self-sufficiency and independence. With no signs of improvement in sight, and all our financial resources exhausted, there is really no choice but to pull the plug once and for all.

As of this announcement, the plan is to continue with the release of all projects currently in a state of being manufactured (i.e. where cash money has been laid down, contracts signed, purchase orders sent). These include the following releases that will be out in July and August.:

IMPERIAL LEATHER "Do You Know Where Your Children Are" LP

IMPERIAL LEATHER "Do You Know Where Your Children Are" 2x7"

MASSMORD / SHADES OF GREY split LP

RESISTANT CULTURE "Welcome to Reality" LP

WARTORN Tainting Tomorrow with the Blood of Yesterday LP/CD

COOTERS / HAPPY BASTARDS split 7"

APPALACHIAN TERROR UNIT Greenwash LP/CD

ALL OTHER SCHEDULED RELEASES WILL BE CONSIDERED CANCELLED and any pre-orders received for other titles will be cancelled and/or refunded. Current subscribers to the CDs of PE subscription are given the choice of having their remaining subscription balances refunded, converted to magazine subscriptions or applied to cooperative memberships membership. The publication of Profane Existence Magazine will not be affected by the record label shutting down and PE Distribution will continue to operation into the foreseeable future.

Profane Existence will NOT be putting out back catalog up for sale nor do we plan to sell the rights or licenses to any of our releases. As far as we're concerned the bands are the proper owners of their music and retain all further reproduction rights so long as the following conditions apply: 1) We have sold out of our existing stocks and (2) they do not owe Profane Existence any outstanding recording or production costs.  Profane Existence will further make available, at cost, any leftover parts (vinyl, covers, inserts, etc.) to bands who wish to manufacture further copies of their own releases or license them to other labels.  If this affects you please get in touch soon, because it costs us money to store materials and we will not do so indefinitely.

My sincerest apologies to all of the bands that this decision negatively impacts and whose projects will now be much more difficult to realize. PE is having its 19th anniversary party this year at the Triple Rock Social Club on October 25th and I hope that many of you will feel up to playing or may otherwise attend.

Thanks for your support and understanding,

Dan

Newest Profane Existence Releases

MASSMORD / SHADES OF GREY split CD / LP

RokZoomExist 108 | MP3: MASSMORD I Civilisationens Skugga | MP3: SHADES OF GREY Capitalism Must Come to an End
Two intense hardcore crust bands from Stockholm, Sweden team up for a powerhouse new split album. MASSMORD have current/former members of such bands as DEUNGA, ARTICLE NINE, BEYOND PINK and VÅNIG 5 and have previously released two albums and have eseblished a reputation for delivering high quality, down-tuned hardcore punk (they have been compared to "WOLFBRIGADE and TO WHAT END? mixed with some FROM ASHES RISE and KYLESA."). SHADES OF GREY share the other side of this split and are the perfect match, both musically and ideologically speaking. Having only previously released a demo, this will be the band's first large-scale release. Both bands have excellent recording production with an absolutely huge sound. Prepare to be blown away!

Co-released by Profane Existence, Blindead Productions, Nakkeskudd Plater, Contraszt! Records, and Vex Records.

IMPERIAL LEATHER Do You Know Where Your Children Are? CD

ExisRokZoomt 107 | MP3: Power of Blame
The second full length album from Stockholm’s IMPERIAL LEATHER. This new album sees a shift to a much more raw and primal sound, losing much of the poppy innocence of their previous releases. Whether you are a long-time fan or new to IMPERIAL LEATHER, this album is sure to be a new favorite: defiant female vocals over raw punk rock n’ roll with a hint of classic American hardcore circa early 1980s AGENT ORANGE and WIPERS. High energy hardcore punk from start to finish that will leave you begging for more. Perhaps you have been living under a rock and do not yet know the joys of IMPERIAL LEATHER. This Swedish punk rock "super group" has been going for a half dozen years now and is made up of members whose numerous other projects count among legends, including MEANWHILE, RockZoomNO SECURITY, DS-13, BRUCE BANNER, ABDUCTEE S.D., SPIDER CUNTS, etc. They have toured Europe and the States on several occasions and this album will be their third appearance on Profane Existence Records.

The will be a VINYL RETENTIVE SERIES version released as a double 7" featuring exlusive art by Marald on a die cut, multifold cover + extras TBA. VR version to be released in July.

RESIST Resistography double CD

Exist 1RokZoom10 - Double CD | MP3: Myth
RESIST were first among the wave of new anarcho-punk bands that swept over Portland, Oregon in the late 80's. Durign their brief existence they became a fixture of the local DIY / anarchopunk movement and released several records before personal problems tore the band apart in 1994. During their brief time together RESIST released their self-titled debut EP, The Only Solution... LP, a pair of split EPs with DISRUPT and DEPRIVED, and finally the Ignorance is Bliss LP on Profane Existence Records. Druing their time they were considered one of the foremost activist bands of North America, even though they rarely played outside their home town. After the band split up, members of RESIST went on to form other bands such as GODLESS, DEFIANCE, SEVERED HEAD OF STATE, etc. In late 2007 three of the four original members (Kelly Halliburton, Tom Nims, and Ward Young) reunited for a 20th anniversay show in Portland, Oregon. Considered a success by a more mature and sober line-up, Tom and Ward have decided to keep the band going and will be playing more shows up and down the West Coast this spring and summer. This discography CD includes studio versions of all previously released RESIST tracks plus outtakes and one live track (90 minutes TRT). The recordings contained herein are completely remastered from the original recordings are sound the way they were originally intended to be. Included on each disc are enhanced CD tracks with a total of 24 minutes of video footage (recorded 1989 to present) you can watch on your computer. The packaging includes a booklet with lyrics, covers, flyers and more. A classic piece of North American anarcho-punk history finally given the attention it deserved.

STATE OF THE UNION To the Bitter End... A Discography CD

Exist 088 | RokZoomMP3: Song Number One
This discography disc includes five pulverizing new tracks (for an unreleased 12” recorded in 2000) plus their self-titled LP and both EPs in their entirety. STATE OF THE UNION played dark, introspective, and despair-driven gloom core in a style that groups them with likes of DYSTOPIA, CHRISTDRIVER, ASBESTODEATH and even some NEUROSIS and GODLESH. Originally formed in Rapid City, South Dakota, STATE OF THE UNION toured the country extensively and were a staple feature of Minneapolis’ underground punk / crust shows during the mid-late 90’s. On the strength of their live performances and their self-released debut EP, they were picked up by Profane Existence Records, who released their Rez-Erection EP in 1995. Shortly after the release of their second EP, the band sought to escape the dead-end scene of Rapid City relocated as a unit to Seattle, Washington. Once settled they went to work recording their first full length release, also released by Profane Existence in 1998. Although the first pressing of 1000 albums sold out in a matter of weeks, it was never repressed due to a three-year hiatus of Profane Existence Records from 1999-2002. The band recorded a second LP, slated for release in 2000, but the project faltered without a label and STATE OF THE UNION disbanded shortly thereafter. While STATE OF THE UNION remain one of the lesser known bands on Profane Existence Records, they have one of the most fiercely loyal following even to this date. Former SOTU members have no dropped out of the scene by any means and play on today in several other Seattle area bands such as SOD HAULER, WORMWOOD, ARID SEA and THE PRIDS. This CD is a long-overdue final testament and contains practically everything they ever recorded and has a total run time is 79:45!

BLACKOUT Stop the Clock CD

ExistRokZoom 106 | MP3: Secrets
Following directly on their heels of their 2007 debut LP, Minneapolis’ BLACKOUT deliver another dose of angst-ridden punk rock'n'roll madness. The music is powerful hardcore punk (read POISON IDEA) with a healthy dose of MOTÖRHEAD style metal. Lyrics are cut-to-the-bone observations about life on the ugly underside of society and are heavily influenced by classic American Blues music. BLACKOUT members have been part of the Profane Existence family for nearly two decades and include members of ASSRASH, PROVOKED, STILLBORN, PHALANX, etc. As with the previous album, this was recorded at the House of Misery studio and a vinyl version will soon be out on Aborted Society Records. Musically this album is much more matured than their previous album and the production is not as roughshod nor rushed as their first release.

MURDER DISCO EXPERIENCE Complete Discography 1997-2004 CD

CRokZoomD discography with all Studio recordings completely remastered from 1997-2004. This includes all material released on the Demon 98 MC, the Supercrust and Feeding 7"es, the split LP with JILTED, all sampler tracks and a couple of unreleased songs and alternate versions. A vinyl version of the Demon 98 recordings will also be released as a part of PE's limited edition "Vinyl Retentive" series later this year.

What the critics have said about the records on this CD:

"It is a refreshing change of pace to get a solid record with a good
sound and amusing personality for review. Murder Disco Experience plays hardcore punk with a crust influence. Their songs are heavy and catchy, and the whole record goes by a little too quickly. Fittingly for a band hoping to not take themselves too seriously, in their lyrics they deal with serious issues as well as annoying things they like to make fun of." - Heart Attack

"This is great!!! OK, on hearing this you may think that this is
nothing exceptionally new in terms of sound and even lyrics, but what MURDER DISCO X do is some extremely welldone hardcore punk that is pissed off, with strongly opinionated lyrics and five great tunes that rock your world! Musically, MURDER DISCO X have a Swedish influenced sound that is fast and furious with some good riffs to acocompany lyrics that deal with subjects such as 'mobile phones', 'war', not being synthetic and believing that we can try to change "their" world rather than destroying ourselves. Positively fucking punk!!! - Reason to Believe

"These guys are bound to start a circle pit frenzy in a town near you." - MRR

APPALACHIAN TERROR UNIT / WARTORN split CD

TRokZoomhis split CD contains the tracks from APPALACHIAN TERROR UNIT's "Armageddon Won't Be Brought By the Gods..." EP and WARTORN's sold-out "Prey for Salvation" EP. A.T.U.'s sound has been compared to a modern day version of NAUSEA with crunching crust-core music and angry female vocals. WARTORN are made up from members of WORDS THAT BURN and CHOOSE YOUR POISON and play a brutally powerful take on Scandinavian crust: something like STATE OF FEAR meets WOLFBRIGADE. These are two of the hardest working / hardest touring bands on Profane Existence Records and such a match up was inevitable. This CD version of their latest EP's was in coincidence with their joint East Coast tour in November 2007 and features all new artwork by Marald. Both bands have plans for full-length releases in 2008 and this is an excellent preview of things to come. Since this CD contains only two EP's worth of material it is lower priced than our normal full-length CDs.

WARCOLLAPSE Defy! LP / CD

ExRokZoomist 104 | MP3: Defy!
The Swedish gods of crust break their half-decade of silence to unleash a new masterpiece of epic proportions. Twelve brutal new songs that layer new realms of gutteral intensity to the traditional Swedish d-beat KÄNG of the likes of TÖTALITAR, KRIGSHOT, WOLFBRIGADE, etc. And of course there is plenty of the traditional WARCOLLAPSE sound that emphasizes mournful dirges, captivating guitar leads, and vocal style that is as primal as it is gutteral. If you are a fan of their previoues releases then this will certainly not disappoint - delivering all the goods than made WARCOLLAPSE a name among legends. Their previous titles include the Crust As Fuck Existence CD on Distortion Records, Divine Intoxications LP/CD on Mind Control, split EP's with DISRUPT and EXTINCTION OF MANKIND and a number of other EP's, a live 10" and video, plus several compilation tracks. In addition to releasing this new record, WARCOLLAPSE are also planning to tour outside of Sweden for the first time in years. October 2007 will see them on a mini-tour of Italy and there is even serious talk of a small US tour for 2008. They have also just released a collection CD on the Swedish label Helvetet Records entitled The Final End - 15 Years of Misery and Despair. There has been talk of PE releasing this in the U.S. along with a bonus DVD that includes the Live Intoxication video footage previously only available on VHS.

PRESSING INFO: CD comes in a mini gatefold sleeve similar to the Divine Intoxication disc. LP comes in a standard LP sleeve and is pressed on 140 gram black vinyl. There are a limited number of copies available on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl. VR Series editions come with an alternate cover by Marald and an embroidered patch.

VR Series edition comes on 180 gram vinyl PLUS has an extra outer sleeve with exclusive new Marald artwork. Scroll down this page to sign up for the VR series before the subscriptions are all sold out.
